my first buss wired +switches+relays.. any comments welcome

Post by skyripper2 »

After a lot of diggin on the garage, I've wired the buss wire , relays, and switches. following #124 for a 100 watt build. The buss was a walk in the park compared to tryin to figure out the coax runs to the relays and i'm not 100% sure it's done right, so if you can see any errors let me know and try not to kick this noob to hard k! :D

Looking good so far...
Mid switch instead of Deep
What value is the PAB cap?
Also is the PAB switch a center off ?
might snap some more pics of coax runs to sockets.
Thanks for sharing and keep posting

Hey Darin, thanks for the props .
I spent my morning wiring the pre amp board and power supply board
and luckily caught two mislabeled wires. pics will come soon

switches are on /on,and yes its a
mid boost.i'm not sure on the pab cap value...but i'm mostly following What is posted on #124 here .

I still need to get a PT .......I'm thinking the hammond 290fx.
and I need a 10k bias pot.

This thread is about a #124 build that keeps to the original schematic and layout. May answer some questions. https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=4294

Thanks ic-racer....I can tell you i have read that post from start to finish many many times........It's a great read . That build is alot closer to#124 than mine will be,as I'm going for parts i can source readily with ease. I figure if something fails that way i can replace the parts no problem.
here's a shot of my boards .

That work looks really nice the chassis too ! If you are a noob, it doesn't show.

Is that one of the Canadian CE chassis ?
Heavens, an unused PI input !

Thanks chopstuck, I'm another lurker who popped up. and feel lucky to have found a group of tube amp folks who are really helpful and willing to help me .
And yes that's a ce chassis .

Here's a mock up of the cab she'll go in for now. I designed it in google sketchup8 a free program online
it's just reg. 3/4 ply stained and clear coated.
i've added a clear plexi strip instead of aluminum and tossed in some Led's
in the cab to light it up!
when I can get my hands on some better wood, I'll make another but for now
plywood it is.........

I am going to make a light bulb limiter as well and then hopefully all's good and i can burn the amp in........
Today I'm going to fit and mount the chassis to the cab as well as the back plate.[/img]
