advice using a triad 114x tranny

Post by skyripper2 »

trying to get my head around using this triad 114x 12v tranny?
I have a mini led lamp that i've installed but know that 12v is way to much for it. I figure i"ll switch it out for a 12v holder and lamp assembly. I 'm using (2)12v omron relays, and will go with a 2 button footswitcher.
also have a lm7812 installed and ready to go. any advice on wiring this up would be helpful ..........
Ps ........go easy on me as this is my first build.

The cleanest way to do it is to wire the LED indicator from the power tube filaments like depicted in the file section layouts. However, you could power the LED from the third terminal(output) of the 7812, but you will need to mount a 470-620R current limiting resistor between it and the LED lamp indicator's anode. If you had a 12V LED assembly with the built in current limiting resistor you could just wire it directly the the ground and output of the 7812.

Using those boards, there's another to wire it as well. However, it changes the scheme of how the foot switches are powered and deviates from the way HAD did it, if you were wiring them his way. In a nutshell, that relay board has two B+ feeds, one would feed the LED indicator and the other terminates at the rear of the chassis feeding the foot switches.

thanks tonemerc I think I get it...
use the 12 v tranny on the relays and footswitch but get the indicator lamp power from pin7 and pin 2 off the power tubes.......

I just use the pilot light from Radio Shack to solve all those problems.

thanks for chiming in Structo . I have a blue led in there now and Know I will have to bring the voltage down more so as not to arc weld my eyes shut with it.
and it's not set in stone that it'll be there in the long run.
I used to have local radio shacks ,but they are now the Source and not as good for electronic components . Radio shack was way better .
I dare say i miss em.
I get shipments from mouser in two working days.........fed ex huh......you bet.
