Looks great!
Re: Monkeymatic Shasta Princeton Reverb pine combo
I got a few more coats on after that photo, but now it's raining hard in CA. Can't complain, because it's BONE dry here.
I need to sand or buff out the rough texture in this finish (I'm using gun stock oil). I don't want to sand right thru the finish, though, and I've learned by experience that this finish is really thin, and it's easy to go right back to the wood.
Suggestions?

Cabinet completed. Looks nice and glossy. Surface is not mirror smooth--no patience for that! I've got stuff to do, man!

Bravo, very nice
Re: Monkeymatic Shasta Princeton Reverb pine combo
Your dovetails look really nice....
Would you mind telling us what method you used, a jig or by hand?
I've always wanted to use dovetails but can't seem to wrap my head around
the math, geometry, layout, etc...

That is a nice half blind dovetail.
Even with 3 different jigs my friend David and I were to dumb to make it work, still baffles me how easy it looks on video but in reality there is a lot of setup time and skill involved.

Thanks, all. I'm using this jig:
http://www.harborfreight.com/dovetail-m ... 34102.html
It's a little flimsy, like all HF stuff is, but I've learned its quirks, and can now get regular results. Having a digital caliper (also bloody cheap: http://www.harborfreight.com/6-inch-dig ... 47257.html) really helps. I use it to set the router bit height, and to fine tune the jig.
The pine was super easy to cut, and did not splinter or flake like the birch plywood does.

That's sexy looking.
And will no doubt smell good for some time.
Which grillcloth is that?
[edit] Nevermind. I hit the close-up and see it's like Fender tan. It had a different pattern from 'far away'.

Man, that is a great looking combo cab! Excellent detail work on the dovetail joints. You did that with Harbor Freight tools? Now that is truly amazing!
I'm thinking of an ash cab for a 4x10" 5F6-A myself.

Very nice work.
It's a guitar amplifier. How hard can it be?
