Looks like time to stock up on 400/600V caps.

Note that the real M150s are still cheaper AND have copper leads, unlike those "new improved" lines at twice the price, which add insult to injury with STEEL leads (check the fine print)! Non-inductive winding with steel leads, brilliant! Bean counters at work.

I stocked up on NOS 6PS orange drops two years ago. Cost about $1.50 each and I had to dry them out in a convection oven for 3 days at 225 deg F to get them back down in spec., then store them in Mason jars over desiccant.

But it's like land, they're not making it any more ('cept in Hawaii o'course!).

Not inferior at all, I use 'em all the time. Excellent sound and never a failure. And with nearly 10,000 to sell it will take a while until they're all gone. So stock up on 'em while you can do it on the cheap. Day will come though, when they're all out and the new ones $2 - 3 - 4 - more.

Mouser has a bunch of super hi price film caps in their catalog, anywhere from @ $15 to $60. Anybody have an idea what those are for. Geeze at those prices they better sound ... well they better turn my meager talent into something incredible the way practice isn't doing. Somehow I don't think that would happen so I'll stick with the 150's for now.

Yes, these days you have to buy 1 and a half boxes to get a half gallon. Just like the coffee companies downsized their pound cans to 13 ounces, then 11, back in the 70's. Shtinkers.

I'm stickin' with Ben & Jerry's. Although Lever Bros took 'em over, a pint's still a pint, 16 oz.
