Testing out a 200-0-200 Edcor. Was trying to do the headphone trick.
Hooked the primary up to an SPST and the SPST to a power cord. Plugged it in with the switch set to off. When I switched it on I saw a spark on the switch where the black wires from the power cord and PT meet. Tripped a breaker in the house.
Guess I'm going to need a light bulb limiter. Didn't think I'd need one just for the headphone trick.
What happened?
Do you guys think I fried my PT?

Hooked up like this, right? Did you tape-off all the other leads so they could not short?

I know that I should have, but no I didn't tape off the leads. I separated them to make sure none of them were touching. Again, there was no spark between secondaries, but on the primary. And yes, it was hooked up like that.
