A guitar should never sound like a bee, a duck or, a chainsaw (well sometimes a chainsaw is alright )

If never to be used, use same colored heatshrink to cover cut as close to bell as possible and then tuck them into bell hole. If maybe to be used later pair them in the twist with functioning taps except for last heat shrinked 1/2 inch, secured along length with heat shrink or cable ties. Arrange so it looks like they are being used.

In one amp I installed a terminal strip and soldered the "unused" wires there.
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

Strip the ends just enough so you can fold over the copper to make it thicker-er. Screw on a wire nut. Wrap entire end in tape.

a few amps like old sunn amps used the same setup.. just soldered and floating on terminals.
you can slao just clip the ends, and slip a piece of heat shrink over them, and tie wrap them somewhere out of the way.

if leads are already cut, i put em on a terminal strip. if long, and possible reuse for another purpose, i fold the end over, shrink-wrap, then coil and zip tie. if sticks up, i either goop it down, or use a wire point.
