Dynamic Dumbley Duo
All dressed up for Christmas!
I have posted both of the chassis before IIRC, but I finally got off my butt and put the Dumbleator in its matching headbox today. It's of course the one on the bottom; if HAD can call his a Dumbleator, I can call mine a Root Loop (!).
The matching amp on top is a 1st generation 50W with a '64 Bassman OT.
Both cabs courtesy of Taylor Cox/Amplified Nation. Slate blue suede with genuine original brown Vox grille cloth. (The diamonds are bigger than the reissue cloth). Faceplates by Joe Vallina/Amplates.com.
Not a pro grade pic but I think you get the flavor.

Re: Dynamic Dumbley Duo
Thanx guys. It was a one-time thing, I got the idea and just had to follow through, but it's the most expensive 50W amp I'll ever build.
As to clips, I'll get some done maybe next week if I can. I have to get my pal Chris to help me out. The active loop makes a big difference allright!

groovtubin asked for clips
Here's a soundclip. ES-336, first half clean, neck pickup; second half OD, both pickups, followed by bridge only. A little reverb and compression added from a UA mic pre/compressor. Amp gain and MV (Clean) both at 2:00PM, OD pots at about 11:30 AM , D-lator all at about 9:30 to 10:00AM.
Some more to come tomorrow. The loop indeed makes a significant improvement.

Re: Dynamic Dumbley Duo
It was done by my pal Chris Rolin. He is almost as good at recording as he is at playing!
SM57, two open backed 1x12s in parallel, one with an 8 ohm Classic 80, the other with an old 15 ohm G12-65 in an Avatar oval hole cab.
G12-65 was miked, but they were side by side in a corner so you get both.
The amp's OT is 4 ohms sec ('64 Bassman) so it's running into 5.3 ohms, not much difference.

Re: Dynamic Dumbley Duo
Beautiful! I'd be thrilled with an amp getting tone like that. Nice playing.
