Looking up old rock stars

Post by randalp3000 »

We listen to music all day at work and sometimes we'll debate what amps or effects are used. One day we were trying to figure out what Gary Myrick used back in the day. So I started googleing and found his e-mail address and asked him what he used.

got this response
It was a 1958 original stratocaster a Marshall combo circa 1979
later found out he used a standard EH Electric Mistress

Super nice guy, killer tone on those early albums

Did the same with Drew Abbot to figure out what phase shifter he use with Seger

mxr phase 90 , a mc5 marshall 100 watt with a West bottom and EV SRO's or a Mesa Boogie Mk. 1 playing through a Marshall stack I can't rember which probably the marshall West for live bullet and the boogie for nine tonight,,,,,

All the best, Drew
