However, if an original or mod, please give details to describe how/why it's different. You also don't need to already own these, they can be dream amps (/ future projects). No particular order necessary.

For me:

1) Modded Fender Twin reverbed. Blackfaced. PPMVI. Running a pair of KT66's into a single 8ohm 15" speaker.

2) A dual preamped vox-ish beast. Paralleled input triode. Pentode channel with bass roll-off tone control.

3) My tweaked HO. Bright caps yanked. EL34 in ghetto-UL.

4) 5b3 Tweed deluxe
unfortunately the wife has limited me to two, fair enough with the ever expanding collection of guitars, currently a slightly modded Mesa DC5 and a modded carvin V33, projects in flux , a twin rec Express running in cathode bias, a Funkshun(roost) head currently being rebuilt and load off vintage spares

5E8A, 5G9, BFPR, 6G6B (and a 6G15, cos that's not an amp)

63/4 AC30 with added TB, 70/72 Marshall, BF Vibrolux or Super.

That Redplate Astro. Yikes.

At first, I thought 'you can cover a lot of ground with four amps'. Then I counted mine and realized I own six at the moment, soon to be seven if I can ever get my butt motivated to finish (start) my current build.

I have:

1. Tweed Deluxe 5E3 which I built. (22nF coupling caps, Tone Tubby Alnico Hempcone 12)
2. Fender Black Face Vibrolux Reverb (pretty much stock)
3. Music Man RD-110 fifty (EV Force 10 speaker)
4. Polytone Mega Brute (stock)
5. Fender Tone Master Head w/ Avatar 2x12 (Celestian Classic Lead 80's) and a small, half-open back 1x12 (Evm12L)
6. Ampeg BA-15 (solid state)

So I guess for me, the question becomes 'which two can I live without?' I'd have to say goodbye to the Music Man and the Polytone. Though I have justifiable applications for all of them (really, I do :-) )

At last count I was at about forty amps, so cutting it back to 4 just isn't going to happen.

If someone held a gun to my head, I would have to keep my
55 5e4a Super - 6v6 model
63 AC30
56 Bassman
64 Blackface Deluxe Reverb

It would have to be a very big gun.

1. Early 70's HiWatt Custom 100
2. Express modified for somewhat lower gain
3. Rocket
4. Brown Princeton with 12" speaker

Oh, wait a minute, those are the 4 amps I have.....hmmmm

Actually I have others, but could live with just these four if I had to.

1. modified HO, my first build. 6EZ5 power tube, merlin's bootstrapped gain-stage/CF, jalapeno tone stack. _maybe_ can sub an SEL running a KT88 instead, but with the same mods.

2. Plexi6V6. Most flexible amp I've ever found especially when it has the plexi/ali switch _and_ variable NFB. Loves boost pedals. 2xG12M in a sealed cab. I've built 4 and ended up selling all of them. Needed the money and kept getting offers on them. One of them is still in the family at least. Cousin-in-law bought it from a music store that had it on consignment for the guy who bought it from the guy I sold it to. My cousin's husband didn't even know I had built it until he saw my name inside of it. I'm going to be building another one soon.

3. JTM45 w/ NFB running off the 8-ohm tap instead of 16 and 6.6k instead of 7.4/8k pushing an EV SRO/12

4. Gretch 6150-T. wish I had never sold it.

I have 20+ amps, mostly tube. These are the standouts to me.

1. My take on TW Express - Has extra gain stage, Tube Rectifier, and my custom Output Tube attenuator. Stupid ugly, but very practical custom cabinet.

2. Trace Elliot Speed Twin Combo. About as many useful features here as one could devise on an analog amp. Virtually the same amp as a Gibson (Trace Elliot) Gold Tone 50 Combo

3. Fender Reissue Deluxe Reverb with Hicks Mender

4. Peavey Prowler. This is a "sleeper" with better clean tone than a Fender, and the best tank reverb I've heard. Incorporates a clean channel and 3 OD gain selections,...two of which may be chosen alternately with the footswitch

1) 100w Dumble ODS clone, check.

2) 6V6 Rocket, check.

3) 18w Marshall, yet to build.

4) Tonemaster™ Troubador 214 (Phil X Evil Robot Amp) I can dream. :D

1 amp going to 1
1 amp going to 6
1 amp going to 10
1 amp going to 11

that will do!

These are cool choices:
Brown Princeton with 12" speaker
Music Man RD-110 fifty (EV Force 10 speaker)
Though the Brown Princeton w/ orig (gold frame Oxford?) 10 didn't need any outside help, unless you just slam it all the time.

I might add a Rivera era Super Champ to cool interesting choices.

My 4? First two will never change:
5F1
5F6A

other 2 will change every time you ask me:

AC30TB
Deluxe Reverb

If this was 1980 one of the 4 would be a 100Wer.
