His solo starts around the 3 minute mark ..... and it utterly sublime!

No one plays like him. I doubt anyone can. 8)
I don't think I was aware of U.K. the band.
Loved that song.

Great lineup

Bill Bruford
Eddie Jobson
John Wetton
Tom

Don't let that smoke out!

Play it wrong once, it's a mistake, play it wrong twice, it's jazz!

I have one (soon to get another, and another). Best guitar I've owned or played (other guitars are "going away").

My HH1X specs are: 6100 SS fretwire, 20" radius, ebony fretboard (no streaking), flamed maple top (deep triple step finish), alder body, single bridge humbucker, JCustom trem.

ha ha jazz hands

i love carvin gear, made in amerrrica, great value, not alot of brand recognition (= low prices) but massive loyalty.

i went the kit route and got a bolt plus, swamp ash body/all maple neck, some upgrades but kept within a $650 budget inc shipping and hardcase

i got a one piece ash body upgrade for free i guess, there is a small knot, but i see it as a beauty spot

one quick picture and then back to holdsworth

U.K. the band.
That tune even got air play.

We were setting up at some Phoenix restaurant gig in the late '70s and heard some Prog Rock on the kitchen radio.
'Wait a minute. Is that Holdsworth?', when the solo started. [We recognized that unique sound having heard him on Tony Williams LPs.]

Many years later he moved to Vista, CA. ['90s?] I had a trio gig at a tiny pub. I'll be danged, one night he was there having an ale [no doubt wincing at our pedestrian musical skills]. Coincidentally I had once worked out the chords to one of his songs, which we got through w/out too much fumbling, and got a thumbs up and raised glass from him, a good memory. [bet he was surprised to hear his song from a bar band]

All of us nearly neighbors, we occasionally ran into him, even visited his home studio.

His long time guitar builder Bill Delap has a shop up here in Monterey.
