I put that there instead of a choke.

You better put that resistor on the inside of the amp before you or someone gets hurt.

Wait...what am I missing here? The heat sink is grounded to the chassis, and it's insulated from the resistor. There will be insulation over the lugs.

Well, since it is a component that is exposed to high volltage, ie, it behooves you to place it where it won't expose the user to high voltage.

You should place that resistor inside the chassis.

Never underestimate what a jackwagon will do once he is in possession of your amp.

Just safety precautions.
Although I am sure many of us sell amps that would not be certified by UL or CE.

just follow prudent safe guards against
accidents.

Anything that is on the outside of the chassis should be fool proof to avoid some dipsh!t the opportunity to end his life.

Look up Underwriters Labratory and CE qualification.

Don't let that smoke out!

Actually, it was going to go inside, but I made a little booboo drilling the holes.

While I am still alive, let me ask another question.

I suspect--and I know this will be hard to believe--that I didn't actually come up with a plan for bridging the inputs before drilling the holes. I probably just drilled, figuring I would come up with the answer later. Am I correct to assume that a single switch connecting the grids of the 12AY7 will get it done? This would mean I drilled a totally unnecessary hole, which would enable me to incorporate Don's rotary switch into the design.

Adding a GIF of the 5F6A schematic, which is probably not needed. I'll have the same inputs.

It also occurs to me that I may have had my doubts about the plate voltages on the input tubes, so it's conceivable that I planned to put pots in those holes in case I had to adjust them. The PT is an Edcor EM0827.

I got the bridging thing fixed. I have decided the extra hole is an inspection port.

Now I have to go through the Rocket output section on paper so I have some clue how to set it up. It looks like I didn't knock myself out planning this thing, but it should be great once I get it cranking.
