Hi all
I'll get a BMR in my shop next wednesday "with a story" (tell you later), I already did see pics/etc. but I was wondering about the transformer-codes, the big e-caps date around '73 but the seller says they're replaced in that year...., can't see the cap-codes from the smaller ones but that will tell the whole story I hope....
Anyway, EIA-codes....
should be (Schumacher) 606 (Y)YWW
but these read:
PT 606 0574
OT 606 0673
choke 606 0173
could this be WWYY or is it just a non useable/non-date code?
many, many tia!
ps I'll also check the pot-codes...
reversed source-date codes on 73-75 Schumachers?

Almost has to be a '74 amp, doesn't it? Pot codes may confirm that date.

WWYY is correct.

All I know is that other manufacturers sometimes inverted the conventional YWW (or YYWW from some point in the sixties on) for WWYY. You see it on some vacuum tubes and on many current products. So given the rest of the evidence it seems likely. After all, there is no 73rd week. It just seems much more likely than a random number following the EIA code. The caveat would be that some manufacturers (especially of vacuum tubes) went to an indecipherable code when consumers balked at buying "stale" tubes.

Now working on the amp;
all cap-date-codes are '72 and '73, last digit was a 3 on the PT so this must be a '73 BMR.....
was sold as a '69 by a vintage-shop......
