Benevolent food returns

Post by Reeltarded »

Yeah. Gross. You feel like yacking. What do you eat?

In a World of overly spiced and exciting things to tempt your taste I have two neutral suggestions, albeit with a caveat.

Frosted Flakes. Tastes the same in both directions.

Waffle House hashbrowns. Similar. Texturally a little like coughing up a cute assed hedgehog but try not to laugh about it because it will come out of your nose and then you will laugh harder.

No way! I am on crackers and ginger ale until the hedgehog habitat is restored to it's normally cast iron condition then fried chicken until it makes me sweat black pepper. Yum

Yeh, I was there, Jan 1991. 2 weeks of can't keep anything down. Re started the stomach with day of fast, just a little tea. Next morning rice, a little butter, tea. Then strawberries. Then rice with peas, more tea . . . slowly ramped up and less than a week later was chowing down orders of General Tsao's Chicken* and just about anything.

Since then I been 10 feet tall and bulletproof.

Well almost. Foods/drinks that have that awful hi-fructose sweetener give me the leaping fantods. And agave syrup - more concentrated fructose - made me barf up my toenails. Artifically sweetened drinks & foods taste like powdered aluminum. But everything else - OK.

* Gen.Tsao's usually served with broccoli, and that's good for ya too. For a good natural vitamin burst chopped broccoli rabe sautée with garlic & whatever meat ya got on hand, sausage or ham work well.
down technical blind alleys . . .

Wife's sick - 2 weeks with cold/flu now.
Nothing tastes good to her all this time.
So she goes to the docs again today.
At the pharmacy she picks up sumpin called a ramen noodle.
Fixed it for her tonight,
She didn't eat much of it... don't blame her.
I thought pot noodles were bad.
Starve a stomach bug - & drink lots of water.
It can take 3 days to clear.
I know this.

My wife taught me the acronym: BRAT. Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. Sick people food.

Mebbe some nutria with a nice Nutella sauce over the top.

Feelin' sick, tho'? I recall hearing an ol' time cure - drink a bottle of cherry brandy. By the time you wake up, you're cured of what ails you!

I tried something like that one time and woke up in a gutter in Cape Canaveral (the real one). Didn't feel so good. Maybe I should have drunk more, I dunno.

I must be getting old. Everyone else I know seems to be. Brown rice and plain yogurt are my go-to these days.

Yerba mate, anyone?

(I miss my coffee.)

Yeah, my cure was a bottle of Jack.

I felt so much worse after that I completely forgot about my virus.
