I wonder why Asians are so gifted in music?

I remember the Suzuki method in Japan where they started three year olds on violin and they were good.

Well I grew up next to some Asian kids and their parents forced them practice 4 hours a day on the piano

Discipline Tom, discipline. And it isn't only music either...

There was a WSJ or other story a year or so ago describing the discipline of the mother, I think it was called "Tiger mother" or similar.
