I saw something similar in Best Buy recently. The same trick as the cheapo tube drive pedals... Orange LED under the tube.

Most of these things are cathode follower tube buffer feeding a class D amp.

I like most Samsung stuff but that is getting a bit ridiculous.

Vox ToneLab plays the same LED hidden-behind-the-tube trick. Silly, but good use for dead/defective 12AX7s.
