Funkshun/ Roost 100watt chassis

Post by jestaudio »

Scored this on ebay a few days ago from a local muso, Partridge Transformers, a matched quad of Scoba badged EL34's, 4 Mazda badged 12ax7,s.
The good bit is the transformers are perfectly good as are the tubes, the bad news is the caps are suspect, all the 12ax7 sockets are shot and its a little rusty.
Ideas please gents

I also have a spare partridge hiwatt spec power transformer for grabs, identical in looks to the one on the pics, ran 4 el34, 8 ecc83 so plenty of grunt

Interesting.
I wonder if Roost had a connection to Hiwatt or perhaps employees of Hiwatt had a hand in their creation?

There is certainly a connection there, funkshun were built by a ex roost employee, the chassis are almost definatly Hiwatt, looking at the hiwatt and roost schematics then comparing to the schematic for my amp it is almost identical to a Hiwatt reverb
