I told 'em I was interested in collecting Dumble tube amps. They set me up with a Paypal credit card, and a $450,000 credit line.

They keep offering to provide other services. No. No, thank you. I can count money... and your little credit card... -spits-

It worked finally. That's all that matters until it isn't all that matters. :)

Maybe she met this one, from Crazy Joe and the Variable Speed Band @ 1979. EVERYBODY loves Eugene, and he knows it!

I think I like Phil's link to China a little better, Leo.

Guess I better read the legalese on my PP account. They don't have my bank acct# but they do have a card#. No problems with them so far, but . . . Hmm.

That's OK . . . but I can never hear the name Eugene without thinking of the Crazy Joe track (and there are many more - for those who like comedy music. I'll leave it to you to look 'em up.)

Well, the song is cool. It's just that China's seems a little more complimentary to somebody named Eugene.

I set up my PayPal account back in the days when many people still used their ISP e-mail addresses. I instead "cleverly" used a "free forever!" e-mail address that an outfit called Bigfoot was handing out at the time to anyone that asked for one. It wasn't a real e-mail account; they would just forward messages to another e-mail account that you specified.

Eventually, I saw that it was stupid to be using this address for my PayPal account name, and I tried to get them to let me change it. I communicated with them both via e-mail and over the phone, but this still wasn't enough; they wanted me to fax copies of my drivers license etc. to them, to be looked at by who knows who and used for who knows what. This was for an account which had existed for a number of years, and had only been used occasionally, and only for trivial/minimal transaction amounts. I wasn't comfortable doing it, and I'm still stuck with the old @bigfoot.com account name.
