Has anybody ever thought about pulling the plug and replace them all with average people of average intelligence, people that have to work to eat?
Impose term limits that are realistic.
My nutty side thinks they have it all figured out and the day we had enough and revolted, it will be too late.
Why should we fear our own government?
Our elected representatives talk a good rhetoric when stumping for election, but they all seem to conform to the good ol' boys that are dinosaurs and stick it to the people.
This has become a dictatorship where it's the way of our elected officials or the highway for us.
Anybody else see anything wrong with this picture?
All our federal pols are sold out to special interests. But, hell, they'd die if they had to live on their government salaries. $180,000 a year wont buy a dog house in DC!
I think we may have here what could possibly be a consensus.
EVERYONE agrees that the people in control of the government at this point in history have their heads up their asses, and do not give a flying f--k for the people they govern.

Our elected officials go to Washington to do good, and end up doing well instead. The biggest threat to our freedoms is not the actions of those we duly elect, but rather the habits and actions of those unaccountable administrative entities who are NOT elected but given the power of the sword to serve the "common" good.
I think we need to go back to the system where you had to own land and pay taxes to vote. It worked better for the common good.
The Last of the World's Great Human Beings
Seek immediate medical attention if you suddenly go either deaf or blind.
If you put the Federal Government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years time there would be a shortage of sand.

That's how they justify it I suppose. Not so funny experience: last year I had a project that took me to southern DC for a few weeks, had the Mrs. meet me one weekend and went to the National Harbor since it was close and we had never been there before. When looking for a place to park I had the observation that EVERY vehicle in the parking lot was a Mercedes, with the lone exception of my work truck.

Their net worth is estimated at $120,000,000...things that make you go WTF!
It was the Big Government Liberal Dems and Blue-Blood Republicans that bloated the federal payroll in the first place. Why are there 800,000 "non essential" federal employees being paid on the public dole, doing "non essential" jobs in violation of the Constitution?
Yeah, flat roofs tend to leak and need more maintenance. A few trees might lower the HVAC bill and pretty the place up. I can't tell if there are windows or not -- if not, they are missing a really good view.

You know, if a private company wanted to build that, the EPA would be all over them.
Unless they were connected, of course.
I'm imagining a movie where a group of constituents goes to ask a Senator for help. He says "One day - and that day may never come - I may require you to perform a service for me."
