Thor, Son of Marshall

Post by ER »

Anybody been inside a 100 watt Thor amp as played by Snuffy Walden?

Apparently made by Terry Marshall, Jim Marshall's son.

Would love to see a schematic and/or some quality gut shots.

Is Snuffy still playing? I thought he turned into T-Bone Burnett. Two guys I am in awe of, by the way. Walden has a lot of TV creds. T-Bone is still producing AFAIK, and he came up with some of the more arcane covers for Gregg Allman's last album.

The Thor thing, I don't know. That does not look like it has any English heritage. Probably wrong, it's happened before.

I had Snuffy's Thors here a couple years ago. Also a spare, loaded circuitboard (yes, the preamps are on a circuitboard!). I also had Terry Kilgore's Thor, as well. Terry is 'tube tramp'
