Guild Masteramp (Tweed?) Schematic Help
Can anyone tell me what this is? What year was it made?
I got it in trade for a pedal....
It needs an isolation transformer badly... and I don't really feel like keeping the selenium diodes around.
Tubes are:
35Z5GT, (2x) 50L6GT, 6SN7GT, (2x) 12AX7
I know it is kinda ugly but it staying this way, except for some new grill cloth. Needs a new back too.
I poked around the web for a schematic to no avail... Anybody able to point me in the right direction?
Tony

Don't you dare touch that grille cloth !
Ok touch it but only clean it real good.
You will be amazed what comes out of there with a little dish soap, Windex maybe and a few clean rags.
I have a White amp (Fender Princeton) and the tolex is gone.
Nothing I have put on it looks anywhere as good as the old covering.
The dark blue grille cloth make it a tough match.
This you too may realize after your cool original cloth is removed.
Just sayin'

I'm not worried about that grill cloth because it is not original anyway. Someone had covered this thing in a vinyl slip cover... Like it was tolexed with no glue, all of the seams were stiched. It used to be white, I'm sure... and I guess they thought the green grill was cool with it. Yuck!! The original was a nice brown color that better suits the original finish that was protected underneath the white vinyl crap.

You win, though I've seen some odd material on Guilds..
That green stuff looks too ugly to have been an accident.
Must have been planned that way by a Pontiac Aztec focus group.

I have almost the same amp showing up tomorrow. The grille cloth is not original, it should look like this.

Default, I notice this is your first post... Welcome!!!
I wonder if that is the same as mine... Yours has no Masteramp logo. There are also four studs with the heads exposed that are used to bolt the speaker in. Three are visible, one is located under the nameplate. Could be the same circuit though... Is the tube complement the same?

You might check EL34 World's Library of Schematics for the Guild amps:

Default, would you mind posting a gutshot of your amp?

Just picked it up yesterday. It has a botched repair job, so I need to investigate that. I'll get better pics up.

BTW, your amp has a Radiokraftsman speaker from 1958, looks like! Check the manufacturer code on your transformers, they'll give you an idea of the general date of the parts. Most likely, your amp had wire screen with the Guild script and logo flocked on, if it it's the same vintage as mine. Does it have a ten inch or twelve inch speaker?

Does yours have one of these do-hickies?

Yeah, well, that doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't belong there.
The guy from the Staight8s has a couple. Looks like an early 66J and a Masteramp with 50L6's.
Looks like it might have that mystery inductor on it's board!
