Happy Birthday to Robert Crumb!
Got reminded on the radio this morning. Cartoonist, illustrator, musician, curmudgeon and all around wit R Crumb hit 70 today and I hope he's celebrating at his chateau with his honey-girl and friends and all the champagne they want.
Must find a copy of R Crumb and His Cheap Suit Seranaders.
Party on Crumb fans! Keep on truckin . . .

My bad ...... meant to write Mr. Natural. I have an ancient Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comic with a bunch of R. Crumb stuff in it too. I get so confused when trying to recall the '60s IYKWIMAITYD.dreric wrote:Gilbert Shelton?NickC wrote:Happy Birthday to the creator of The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.

Back in the day in the UK we could get the FFFB's with a little effort.
My main memory is Fat Freddie's Cat shiitting in his headphones.
Still laugh thinking about it.

Here in Australia, print censorship was very heavy in the sixties. The underground comix were usually only available in student magazines on campus.

THE most authentic trad string band over the last 30yrs and severely overlooked. What an amazing band! "Old Timey" before it was hip...again. Hell I've been covering "Shopping Mall Blues" for the last 15 yrs now.Leo_Gnardo wrote:

Zwigoff has made some great movies over the years, see "Crumb" and "Ghost World"
