Help! Source needed for a star washer.

Post by GPD »

Hello,

I'm hoping somebody can help me find a source for an internal star washer typically used on switches, fuse holders and jewel light housings. Attached is a jpg of what I'm after.

They are much thinner than the typical star washer found on potentiometers and were commonly used on tube amps and other audio devices for decades. Carling used to supply these with their switches but this is no longer the case. If you don't use them on a panel mount, the switch is guaranteed to loosen.

I need two ID's...1/2" and 11/16" and I'd prefer the thinner .020" version if possible.

Yes, I know...beggars cannot be choosers but I haven't been able to locate these parts thus far and any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Do you have any True Value hardware stores in your area?

They often have the oddball part or fastener that nobody else has.

OR a Radio Shack.

I saw those on the Angela site shortly after I posted this...those are close enough for one size I'm after. They don't have the other. Ken Watt's did shoot me an E-Mail saying he could get me what I wanted but I've had a tough time getting hold of him via E-Mail or telephone since he first contacted me.
