Hey folks,
Any idea what this speaker is? I've heard it could be a Utah Gold. It's pulled from a Silvertone 1472 and it sounds almost entirely like farts. Very flabby, loose bottom end. Seems to be the original speaker from the amp.
Numbers are:
V12JP6
328151
3012 (this is also stamped inside the cab of the combo amp)
106237-2

Utah Gold? Sounds like high plains mormon weed.
I think that is a show on NatGeo, actually.

Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

Doesn't look at all like the Utah Gold I pulled from a Sano amp:

My Utah speaker sounded really great in the 18-watt i built. No farty. Good, deep bass, and performed well when amp was dimed.

I think you are on the right track.

328 is definitely the Utah manufacturers code. The 151 would be a date of manufacture code.
Cheers,
Ian

Hmm... The speaker codes would point to Utah but I just found out about Fisher which look exactly like mine and were used in the 1472's originally. Perhaps a joint venture by Utah and Fisher?
Regardless, it looks like this speaker had at least something to do with Fisher.
It turns out the 3012 stamp is Silvertone's (Dano's) stamp... that's why in on the baffle too. 30th week of 1962. Not sure what the '1' is about.
Thanks folks.
