Grand Mesa trip
Heading to Grand Mesa, Colorado at Cottonwood Camp Ground for some R&R with wife's relatives. Hauling ATV's. Might need O2 up at 10,000 feet.

Re: Grand Mesa trip
Been there many times. Nice trails. Good fishing. Take plenty of sunscreen or you'll get burnt to a crisp. Not much O2 at that altitude. The beer works quicker. Enjoy.

Beer loses its fizz faster at 10K ft, and let it gas off before you drink it. Wait a day or two to acclimate before drinking alcohol. If you drive, the ascent counts some for acclimation, but not enough. Drink lots of water. Take something for a headache (O2 related), don't wait! Enjoy the scenery! Have fun!

Re: Grand Mesa trip
I lived for quite a few years at 10k feet and drank plenty of carbonated beer. No difference at all that I could tell...except the effects.Beer loses its fizz faster at 10K ft, and let it gas off before you drink it.
Mark - bring warm clothes. It cools off quick after the sun goes down. You may even think about a hat and gloves. Just sayin...

Be safe and enjoy, sounds like a great excuse for a 50/50 mix of 87 and 110 race gas.M Fowler wrote:Heading to Grand Mesa, Colorado at Cottonwood Camp Ground for some R&R with wife's relatives. Hauling ATV's. Might need O2 up at 10,000 feet.

Thanks guys, will finish packing the trailer tomorrow, meet up with brother-in-law/niece team, and head out at 5AM Saturday. I don't drink anymore 7 years now but the rest of the herd will be a drunken mess.
Man I miss getting stupid.
Re: Grand Mesa trip
Have a good time, Mark. Be sure to post some pics!
Re: Grand Mesa trip
Lost my camera sometime during the big family reunion we had. I don't know where the hell my camera is. Might have to hit Best Buy for a new digital camera.

Take mental pictures.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

Enoy, Mark. Beautiful area. A new camera would probably be a welcome purchase.
Yeah, I found I didn't do stupid very well. Never found I missed it, and actually have some nice memories as a result.
10,000 feet will definitely have an O2 effect for a couple of days. Take it slow, and stay hydrated.

It's a guitar amplifier. How hard can it be?
Re: Grand Mesa trip
Have fun Mark. Not so far from here - a beautiful area. There's supposed to be a good guitar shop in Grand Junction - can't remember the name.
Don't you boys know any NICE songs?
Re: Grand Mesa trip
Sounds like fun.Hope you can get some pics
I didn't notice any effects at around 12,000 but I was a teenager.I'm sure I'd notice now,
I don't drink any more either, or any less
