Went ahead and fired it up before I replaced the cap can. Crystal clear Mexican Radio. 8) Made a quick video but it's too large to attach.

Had some pretty good hum but sounded decent. Pulled the cap can and cut er open. It was pretty black/burnt looking in the far end of the can. Not sure if that's normal.?.?.....

Can was 20u@400v, 20u@400v, 20u@25v. Going with 2, 20u 450v caps in the can. I'll put the 25v cap across the cathode resistor for the power tubes.

I like how you stacked the caps in that can.

Is that a '55 Belair?

Two door post model, the most desired.

I always wanted a '56 since that was the year I dropped.

Something like this would be stylin'.

Cool car Tom!

My old man's is a 55 210 with some Bel Air trim added....

Was fun while I had it - he left it with me for a couple of weeks. It's up in Alaska now (where he lives). Will ship the radio up to him next week and let him figure out how to get it back in. 8)
