I thought Weston Presidio cashed out at the end of last year. Fender was supposedly setting up new financing via JPMC this spring. Did that not go through?Leo_Gnardo wrote:Lifetime = until next year, Presidio has Fender's head in the guillotine. $250M in debt all due 2014. Only 5 months from doomsday. If they don't make it, gut the company & sell the carcass to ... who .... LOUS.... I mean LOUD?Reeltarded wrote:Meanwhile Fender has a lifetime supply of crack.
As husky said "they're so stupid!" Yes that, & desperate too. Future paychecks may be cashed in rice, if ya know what I mean...

250M is way more picks and tshirts than they could ever sell. Poor investment for anyone to bail that.. unless it's Lee O. Fong in "Fullertong" Shein Ye.

Maybe it did. They never tell me anything... In any case Fender's mgmt seems to be running around like their jock's on fire. Company seems a wee mite desperate. A little worried about sumpin sumpin... And who cares which vulture capitalist has their claws in 'em. That's like worrying whether your leg's being chewed off by an alligator or a crocodile. What's the diff? The only "friendlier" deal would be to spread that debt over some years. There's a devil deal for ya. Pay us now or pay us much more later.firestorm wrote: I thought Weston Presidio cashed out at the end of last year. Fender was supposedly setting up new financing via JPMC this spring. PING HUSKY He'll know! He said he's been hiring the good techs Fender's been cashiering.

Thats what is wrong with this country.Just like so many brands before.Fender could have been run the same way Leo ran it and made some people plenty rich.
The problem is plenty rich ain't good enough. They've gotta be super rich.
Dear lord when do these people just stop and say a 100 million is plenty.I'm gonna fish for the next 20 years

$100M is nothing in tomorrow's dollars.

Yeah, I was wondering when Fender (FMIC) was buying every little guitar manufacturer in sight if they were going to be able to make it work.

I don't know what they're teaching in B school these days. Exactly the same idiocy that's killing iconic companies like Sears. You bring the competition in-house hoping distribution and purchasing efficiencies make both lines profitable. But you wind up paying the marketing costs to undermine your own core brands.
