I dunno but there's some groundhogs around here that would be happy to find out for ya at no more than 25 yd & iron sights. One of my crustomers recommended "game shok" ammo but it's not recommended for semi auto use. :( There must be some way around this. A revolver-magazine rifle?

I have a feeling our resident expert will arrive soon to give you the birdseye lowdown on your question. I DO take his advice seriously.

250 yards is pushing a little beyond a .22lr round's effective range. heh

I am not shooting at anything with a .22 @ 250yds in 80% relative humidity. :)

4 ft, that's a lotta drop.

Noo Yawk. No pistol permit unless I'm the sheriff's mother. Also now limited to 7 in the mag. What a load of bollocks.

I've been looking at Crosman & found a likely CO2 pellet rifle that may suffice. Model 1077 cheap @ $90. Only recently learned that pellets are available in several shapes not just the old "mushroom." Pointy ones look suited for the job. Groundhogs burrowing under everything & ravaging gardens. They even fight in the street. I've trapped & removed 27 in the last 3 years, just my neighbor's yard and mine, less than an acre. Same neighbor... "They were put there to test my faith." One in the trap right now, ready to ship out to Camp Groundhog.

You need to become a member of a weapons trust. McGruff can't stop a federal trust.

No, buddy. I don't own a .22 that doesn't look like a pen. Don't ask me to write a check.
