basketweave cane grillcloth

Post by 10thTx »

Anyone used a basketweave cane grillcloth on an amp they've built?

IF so, how did you like the appearance and what kind of impact did it have on the amp tone? I know some of the Mesa Boogies used it.

With respect, 10thtx

I used it on this 2x10 cab:

This is genuine Marshall cane. If you look around, you can also find some cloth stuff that's not real cane, but looks almost as nice, is easier to work with (not so stiff), and costs less.

Couldn't detect any tonal influence.

It can look nice on a head cab front panel too:

Thanks, Mike :D

Your wood cabs look really nice. You should try the bubinga sometime, if you can find it at a good price. It has a nice deep look to it.

Cheers!
