Local county bureaucracy

Post by vibratoking »

I received the auto registration renewal card in the mail. I sent it in with payment like I always do. It was sent back to me with the check uncashed and a note stating that I did not provide proof of insurance. Never needed to send them the proof in the past. I have insurance BTW. So, I am irritated and send it all back with the proof of insurance card included. Since I am irritated I address the envelope to the 'El Paso County Crook/Recorder'. They return the all the paperwork again stating that I did not provide proof of insurance. Some asshole noticed how I addressed the envelope, threw my proof of insurance in the trash and returned it. I wanna find that asshole and pummel him.

Would that be considered illegal on their part? Do it again, but this time make some videos of you putting the insurance card in the envelope. Maybe have the person at the post office witness you do it right before you send it. See what happens.. Maybe you could file a complaint with some evidence.

Never dealt with a DMV Structo, isn't that a California thing?

Also, I would edit your post to change 'pummel' to 'talk' in light of some of the previous discussions we've been having here.

I would change it to "suffocate with wet cement" and add a string of emoticons that are code for my cell to wake up.

   :x  :?: :D

Colorado DMV states:

My insurance is valid but an error is displaying that I do not have valid insurance and not allowing me to proceed with renewing my vehicle online, why?

Your insurance provider is responsible for providing insurance information to update your vehicle record. Please contact your insurance provider to determine if they have transmitted your insurance information to the Department of Revenue, Division of Motor Vehicles.

If you have recently activated or renewed your insurance, it may take several days before that information is updated to allow online renewal. It is recommended that you bring your proof of insurance and any other documentation necessary for your renewal to your county motor vehicle office and renew your registration in-person.

You might have to jack the local DMV up a bit along with your insurance company. :)

I feel certain this sort of governmental behavior is responsible for the minority party filling its ranks. That aside, the bad news is that you should probably swallow your pride and your feelings, and make a personal visit with your insurance policy in-hand. Otherwise, you are likely to have lapsed license plates. It's ugly.

In Maryland, we simply have to supply the insurance company name and policy number. Then you sign a statement saying you told the truth and the legally required amount (or something like that.)

In Canada we have to bring proof of insurance in person to an MTO office. (DMV equivalent) or we don't get plates/registration.

It's not about pride. I'll be visiting them in person to get my tags. It's a nuisance that I'm in a tit-for-tat exchange with a county employee whose salary I am partially paying.

ass*wipes would even cash my check - they had it for 20 days.

day came due - I had to cancel the check and go to the actual store to get my tabs.

they are so f*cked up right now its not even worth worrying about their sorry ass. Its credit card or in person now - looks like they dont take checks through the mail - even though they say they do.

the devil incarnate I SAY!
it really is a journey, and you just cant farm out the battle wounds
