Happy Hammond on Craigslist day!
Picked up this non-working Hammond L-102 and Leslie 25 today for $60. First cool discovery: Organ and Leslie fit in my Explorer. Second cool discovery: Amperex Bugle Boy 12ax7! Just paid for itself.
Check out the 12au7a, third from left. "YUGOSLAVIA" stamped on top of GE Electronics. What?
Pair of made in Holland 6bq5, pair of Tung Sol 6L6.
Has a replacement speaker in the Leslie, a Jensen made Fender. Does not have a "220..." code, so not sure how to date it. Numbers on the frame: 82208, 8220, 69 1 66, and on speaker cone: 3012B26W1. It's been in there a few years, judging by the thick layer of yellow oxidation on the screws. Sulphur oxide?!?

Nice score! Great tubes there. Find me one!
Re: Happy Hammond on Craigslist day!
Great find! I'm so jealous!
I've been searching for something like this for a long time. Doesn't seem to be many tube organs in Australia however
just solid state Japanese stuff

Notice the flat plates, as apposed to the ladder or ribbed plates of the more common twin triode there. Flat plates indicate it was manufactured on telefunken tooling. The EI company bought telefunkens tooling when the telefunken factory closed down, the ei factory was (is?) based in yugoslavia. They are nice tubes. Can't explain the double stamping tho, never seen that before.xtian wrote:

Was disappointed to learn organ and leslie cabinetry is plywood with veneer, rather than solid wood.
Can anyone help me date the speaker? Can't find any 6-digit codes on it. Again, numbers on the frame: 82208, 8220, 69 1 66, and on speaker cone: 3012B26W1.

Re: Happy Hammond on Craigslist day!
I played in a band with a keyboard player that had that same model leslie. I remember getting stoned and going to our practice space when he wasn't there and hooking it up to my guitar amp. I emerged about four hours later, having achieved Satori.
I lost the Satori on our first gig where we had to carry it up a flight of stairs.
$60?!? That's a score. Tell your wife it's a sideboard and keep it in the living room.
Are you going to try to restore the Hammond? I'd love to have an old Hammond in the living room.

Nope. Imma make a Princeton or an 18-watt.LeftyStrat wrote:Are you going to try to restore the Hammond?
I was playing an AWESOME version of Black Hole Sun thru the Leslie with some serious distortion, and doing my best Chris Cornell, when the whole neighborhood's power went down. Oops. Sorry for rocking too hard, y'all.

Re: Happy Hammond on Craigslist day!
Nice looking organ and great score on the Leslie. I got my L100 off of Craigslist too for $50, sadly with no Leslie.
Any idea why the organ isn't working? Wish I lived closer to you cause I'd take every scrap of that thing you didn't need. In fact, if you have no plans for the percussion and vibrato chassis in the upper deck I'd love to get them off of you.
Good luck with the conversion!

Re: Happy Hammond on Craigslist day!
I just gave away my 60s Baldwin Orgasonic about half an hour ago. I removed it from the garage and put it at the side of the house yesterday and today some woman was asking about it. I told her it doesn't work and it runs on tubes. She still wanted it, so we got it into her Jeep and off it went. It had just finished raining too.
