Strain reliefs and faceplates
How do you guys negotiate this, as it seems a faceplate can't sit between chassis and the inserted relief. What's the best plan here? File it out manually to fit over the relief once inserted?

Re: Strain reliefs and faceplates
I have fiddled with the strain relief to get it to fit, and have done like you indicated, work the faceplate a little bigger than the relief. I have also fiddled with the relief itself, trimming back some plastic to get it to fit securely on a thicker surface.
My current approach is to avoid strain reliefs altogether, using IEC connectors / cords. This avoids having a power cord dangling from the head/combo.

Re: Strain reliefs and faceplates
I hadn't thought about fiddling with the relief itself. That's a good option. Another thought I had, as this will be for a rear loading combo, is to put the assembly on top of the chassis in the corner.
Re: Strain reliefs and faceplates
You can get different sized strain relief's.
This usually a result from installing a larger cord or thicker jacket on the power cord.

Here's how I did it.... Not quite on purpose. Was trying to enlarge the hole in the faceplate and scratched it...... Doh!

Re: Strain reliefs and faceplates
Well my dilemma is similar, but I scratched the hell out of my chassis, because for a second I forgot that my AC goes in the front on this one and I was careless. Ouch! I was thinking about doing a bunch of scratch marks in corel and getting that lasered in on a plate and be done with itDeric wrote:Here's how I did it.... Not quite on purpose. Hey that might work. Thanks for the link. I assumed I wouldn't be able to find different size depths of the "rut" but this one looks adjustable?Richie wrote:they make different type too. Might see them on medical equipment. look for some similar to these?

Re: Strain reliefs and faceplates
I started using the bottom Corner of the chassis rather than the back. No more issues
