You know what is super cheap and doesn't give up in sparkly unicorn rainbows?

Silicon diodes.

Give a listen to Guitarnut's Plexi circuit with switchable SS and vacuum rectifiers and bias compensation. It's really hard to hear any difference, and there is no sag resistor. https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... 785#258785

They look pretty. But they are pretty expensive.

I got a PCM-60 in the basement collecting dust. :wink: :wink:

keep it down about the 5v4's, I've thought about trying one in a ac30 type to lower the voltage a bit. :wink:
