Oh, that's right, we either waited until we were home or called from a phone booth.
Yes kids, there used to be things called phone booths that you plugged with a dime (later a quarter) and made a local call.
Fogetaboutit if you needed to call long distance.
There was always collect called which would be compared to roaming charges nowadays.

I still remember a friend getting one of those Motorola "brick" phones back in the mid 80's.
It cost something like $3.00 a minute but he was satisfied with being the first of our group to have a cell phone, even though there weren't many cells yet.

I digress, throw them all into the garbage!

Truth be told, all so called smart phones suck. Buggy pieces of shit with lousy battery life, gltiches, bad programming, and built-in 'bugs' in the case of apple. Why do we still put up with dropped calls? Cause we're all idiots. We really shouldn't need to carry a god damned phone anyway. I'm guilty.

A phone should have a curly cord and a rotary dial...OK, I'll accept a push button, but it has to have the curly cord.

I have a cheap cellphone that I hardly ever use, just keep it on hand for "emergencies".

I'm actually considering making the leap to some sort of smartphone, probably an android.
I don't care for Apple's business model so it wont be an iphone.

I've just got a regular ass construction phone.
I can drop it off the second story and it still works.
The battery last about 7-8 days.
I can even talk on it under water.
I wouldn't have one at all if it wasn't crucial for my business.

aint it great - they figured out how to make you pay for stuff you dont need - that other stuff you already have and paid for already does.

I pay 8 bucks a month - and I consider that too much.

Its a scam - I prefer face to face human interaction. And real life experiences over digital ones.
