Simple line out
I searched the archives, and didn't find much, so it's time to revisit!
Simple line out for tube amp. No speaker emulation needed. Just a pot to control level, one resistor, one cap. Even with these three components, I found a handful of variations. Non-polar cap inline with signal, cap parallel across output, no cap at all. Different values of resistors and pots.
What's your favorite?
This is for an SE KT88 low-watt bass amp, which will output via this line out to a 1000-watt solid state power amp.

Take a look at "Kalamazoo amp field Guide". Look under the Mods tab.

Damn! Martin is going to kill me for not rebroadcasting his instructions that I drew up and lost.
Let me see if I can find the thread. So hard to search complete terms.. eeee...

Re: Simple line out
I'd have been hard pressed to dig that up, so thanks, Miles! I think a simple divider would be good, use the shunt cap to dump HF and noise to ground. Let the little amp use its speaker for a load, and adjust the values to get the right output signal level for the power amp input.

Martin, use google and search with *terms*+ site:ampgarage.com.
I used "reeltarded variable line out site:ampgarage.com".

Re: Simple line out
The series cap is a good idea if there is a GNFB loop. Otherwise, there will be DC on the line-out signal.

thanks Mark.
Much appreciated the "adding_slave_out_to_amp" article. Cool graphics too.
