Rocket PS question

Post by JoeCon »

So....

600 VAC on PT secondaries thru IN4007 diodes, two pair, I get 285 VDC. Was expecting more like 400V, bad diodes?

Guess I'll take them out and see.

Anyone? Bueller??

Yah. Should be over 400 no load?

I bet you must be right.

Gentlemen

Mark you helped a lot with providing the layout for the 2 x EL84 rocket and inane questions I had about getting this thing going. Thanks much.

Miles, it sounds clean and clear with a bloom as the volume goes up. And it's LOUD! After only 5 minutes the Mrs said "turn that down!!" LOL...That's a good amp!

I'll play with it a little more and then take some measurement and see where voltages lie. It's a hotter PS 280-0-280 ala some Fowler builds and it's got nice clean headroom.

More to come...
