Tony, talbany wrote:VVT Amps makes a preamp based on the HRM circuit that's buffered and inserts right into the effects loop of these amps so you get clean channel with boost and OD with boost..By using the loop in the Deluxes and Devilles you use the power amp section as well as the amps reverb..
Something to look into if you cant mod it

I assume the X-preamp grounds the pre amp signal send from the host amp?

Not selling any kits at this time. It's certainly a possibility down the line, but not at the moment. The boards are fairly "universal" except for an all tube board (for Twin, Pro's, Traynors) with tube send and return for the reverb. Other models have solid state reverb with tube loop, and remainder of amp all tube. Since the amps are adapted somewhat around the board, it's tough to do instructions, since we use only a limited palette of amps so the layouts line up.M Fowler wrote:Nice job Andy, any kit information?

Re: Has anyone done a Fender Hot Rod conversion?
Pls forgive me for stepping in, but feel i`m qualed to answer w/13+ years modding these amps. Preamp/FX OUT is a simple DIRECT out, and is NOT connected to the rtn jack say like the dumbles, with a stock HRD you can plug a open ended 1/4 jack into preamp out/fx SEND, and amp will play normally. I`m sure this made it easier for Tony to implement as well!CHIP wrote:Tony, talbany wrote:VVT Amps makes a preamp based on the HRM circuit that's buffered and inserts right into the effects loop of these amps so you get clean channel with boost and OD with boost..By using the loop in the Deluxes and Devilles you use the power amp section as well as the amps reverb..

that looks great Andy. Did you use the stock iron?FUCHSAUDIO wrote:New panel, new board, ODS all the way.....
My confidence is getting there cauz I know you wouldn't send out a less than stellar amp. I'm thinking I can copy the board I put in my Peavey chassis years ago.
