50w power transformer

Hi everybody,Please what is the right power transformer for a 2x6l6 dumble clone project?i need 465 volts on the plates like the real thing,which one is the correct?i know the 100w is 345-0-345,but for the 50w??THANKS IN ADVANCE

I don't think the real thing has 465 plate volts, more like 445.

99% of amps used Schumacher transformers pulled out of fenders, so 100W amps used Twin/showman Iron, 50 Watters used BF Bassman Iron.

If you like, the Mercury DO50 is a Dynaco Style OT that sounds WONDERFUL with this circuit.

Ciao Funk,in the ods notes that amp had 465v on the plates if i'm correct,i think 465volts is the magic number :wink: BEST REGARDS

I have done 2 builds recently with the Bassman iron replacements from Antique (tubesandmore.com) and the B+ on a 8 tube build (loop and 2 tube reverb) was 452 and for a 6 tube build (loop only) was 458. so a standard 5 tube build should put you over 460. The voltages are lower if you are using the "precision" power supply because of the bleeders. Both of the above mentioned builds used series filter caps for the first node only.

Funk' - What iron fits the chassis that you are currently offering? Is the Dynaco iron the same size as the Fender (assuming MM repros for both)?
