Matching tubes question
I have a three 6L6 GCMSTR tubes that have markings PC 35 / TC 3075. Can I put a forth tube in with the marking PC 34 / TC 3075 ? Will I be able to bias them reasonably close or it will be a big mismatch?
Re: Matching tubes question
I think PC means plate current.
I think TC means transconductance.
So you have 4 tubes matched exactly for TC. The one marked PC 34 is close enough. 1mA shouldn't make any difference. It might even improve the tone.
The reality is that unless you know how they were matched, you may find they drift after a while, so check them after you've used the amp for a while to see if they are still reasonably close.
