I saw this lady, Carolyn Mark, in a local bar a few years ago and liked her a lot, very entertaining. She does this quirky country folk thing. Some of you might like it. Check out her site.

She's good. She plays without a pick. I wish Robben could sing that well. Actually, I just wish Robben would hire a vocalist...

Funny thing is I cannot handle more than about four songs at a time.

Gotta love Cat! Good enough to hear the tone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bfx_81g8HkE

Lefty put this up a while back on another thread, but Jessica Dobson (The Shins, Spoon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) deserves a reprise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5Kgof7h ... g&index=17

Yeah, Christina is the sh!t. I knew of her since she was a mainstay in the bubblegum pop genre, but I never tuned in to what she was doing because that's just not my thing. About 5 years ago, she appeared on stage with several fem singers for a tribute to Aretha on the Grammy's. I couldn't believe my ears. The funny thing is, just before the commercial break, the emcee was talking about a country singer who would be performing after the commercial. I had no idea what Christina looked like, and so I kind of jumped to the conclusion that this tiny, anglo, blond girl was a country singer. Needless to say, through her whole performance, I was shaking my head, asking what are doing being a country singer with R&B chops like that!? When my wife (the country fan in our house) came home, I rolled it back and asked her Who is this country singer? Of course here response was That's Christina Aguilera, silly!
