Tube probably shorted from the voltage shock
Check your sockets for carbon traces and loose pins

Without a tube tester your amp just told you by swapping positions the tube has failed.

I purchased a quad of SED =C= EL34's, and one tube shorted-out after less than 8 hours use. :(

Well I think I have found the culprit for today's power problems, damn step up transformer I am using (because in Serbia it's 220V in the mains) had damaged wire and was cutting out from time to time. I got another one and so far turned everything on and off dozens of times and everything is OK even the fuse I thought is gone is actually working! So if the bad wire in the step up transformer accounts for power problems could that be the reason the tube broke? Or it was just coincidence? Well, for right now I have reverted to my old trusty set of tubes, so far everything is OK we'll see what happens.. In the mean time I will try to get a replacement (matched) for that broken tube.
