I'll say it again. Dood...mellow out.
Re: Delete post.
Geez guys cut him slack.I really think he meant using the variac to protect the amp not himself (I hope). Then everyone jumped on and he got pissy about it.Not sure why I'm standing up for him after he was a total dick wad to me for cracking a joke.I thought it was funny and thats all that really matters.

I thought it was funny too, CB. Although I am not sticking up for him. Some of us mentioned safety for damn good reasons. It is obvious from his statements that the OP has holes in his understanding regarding safety. Plain and simple. Then he overreacted quite a few times. Now the situation has become fodder for jokes. It is what it is. The drive-by mentality never seems to get the point. I have seen precious few recover from this situation. Watch and see.

1. Showed up asking questions. That was a good move.Even after I stated that I use a variac to protect the amp, that was of-course 'overlooked' in favor inciting drama... I just don't have the time of the desire to get involved in that. I was hoping that this forum was a more technically based like Metro, but so-far it's more like Rig-Talk!
2. Made comments that are not technically sound. Not a problem in general.
3. Got replies you didn't like as a result. Went of the defensive in response. Going on the defensive was a poor response to being helped.
4. Attacked those that made those replies. That was a poorer decision.
5. Proceeded to insult the whole forum. That was an even poorer decision.
Did I leave anything out?
You are not the first guy to show up, act out ot line and leave. As a result, the probablility that anyone is willing to help or answer your question has been greatly reduced. You can count me out.
I doubt that. I am not likely to get along with the guy that runs into the room all assholes and elbows.I'm quite certain that if any of us met in-person, we would get along just fine.

It's odd how the drive-by always seem to follow the same pattern. I would swear that you were here a few months ago under a different handle.
Re: Delete post.
I was going to propose a do-over, but it looks like things have deteriorated past that point. Oh well.
