Not sure that "clone" is the correct term for what all these guys build, but I've heard great-sounding clips of all their stuff and they're all forum members. A short list:

http://www.carolannamps.com/odseries.htm

http://www.fuchsaudiotechnology.com/

http://www.glaswerks.com/

hope those links all work for ya...

Chris,

I can get you a Kit type thing or build you a complete amp, Obviously the kit is far less expensive, but if you've never built an amp before this is NOT the place I'd start, it's kind of an intense build to do it right as a first-go-round.

at any rate, you can send me a PM or an email at info@bludotone.com.

Thanks

First one is about similar in pricing to a Fuchs (If I were to buy from the USA). The Fuchs cost a bomb here for me. Glaswerks and Carolann I can't find any pricing.

Just for example the Fuchs here cost about $6000 hence why I was hoping there may be some generous builders on here who can do one for around $2000/2500

If you can wait, I could do this for you in this price range. I've built 5 for other folks and they're all happy with the results.

Let me know.

Ok, so who has a chassis in stock now they can sell me? Funk doesn't have any for awhile I'm told.

Did you see the natchanis post in the Sell/Trade forum? Never seen any of his stuff in person, but having used one of Funk's chassis, I'd wait...

There are a whole variety of ways to do a chassis. I had one made custom by a guy on Ebay for way too much $85 with no holes, no printing etc. Just a raw aluminum box. I punched to holes, (easy) and made a REALLY nice front plate for another $80 from Amplates.com. Like you, I was impatient and wouldn't wait for Funk's next production run. Normster has one of the offshore chassis I think and other than bad spelling it worked out.

Anyway, point being, BobI can do whatever you want, (as well as a half dozen other folks here) it just cost a bit more. I have not seen one of Funk's chassis in the flesh but folks that use them gush with praise.

You could you know, do the footwork, gather the chassis together, knobs, pots, switches, some components, other stuff, yada yada, and THEN send it to one of the guys here for assembly and tuning/tweaking. You would be surprised how satisfying this whole process is. Be patient lad. Life is to be lived!!!

I have chassis with my logo on them, but none to sell as a DIY, I have a couple that weren't quite right that aren't screen-printed that I'd sell for a song. THey are totally functional, they were the prototypes that I used for hole placement etc.
