TW Rocket build for son
Working on a new board layout on my youngest son's Rocket putting the filter caps on the tone board. I don't like cap stacks. Components are close together but I don't think in a Rocket it will matter.

Re: TW Rocket build for son
Hi Mark,
Wow nice layout. I see a switch near the first pot, for cathode bypass? Also dual ganged pot so LarMar PPIMV?
I hope you post more pics as you go along I'm just starting an 18Watt rocket build...need to see it done right.
Thanks.

Hey! (dad)
I LIKE that layout. I don't like the cap stack either. Very good!

Great layout Mark (and Martin). Much better grounding scheme. You're a great dad! (can you adopt me?

My son's name is Martin.
I took out some paper and pencil to design a tone board with caps in line with components and this is what I came up with. Two more caps 47uf will go on separate cap board.
Thanks guys.

Here is a photo of the two 18w Rockets for my two sons top I built for oldest son Craig and bottom currently building for youngest son Martin.
My daughter wants a bass amp so TW bass amp will be next.

Those look really nice. I hope you're running them in stereo Mark! For best results, play at maximum volume!

I thought the concorde sounded really good with a bass.Probably need to build a 300 watter for bass.M Fowler wrote:Here is a photo of the two 18w Rockets for my two sons top I built for oldest son Craig and bottom currently building for youngest son Martin.

Missed the mini toggle switch.
I'm a single coil player, Tele and Strat, should I do a bright switch on my rocket? Still time to drill another hole!
Thanks!

No I don't think it's necessary I play LP so I like to add it but I don't use the bright switch all the time.

Re: TW Rocket build for son
Love the layout. I'm still trying to figure out how to remove the hot glue caps from the chassis on my Express build. I'm in the process of moving it to a more "correct" chassis.
I'll never glue the electrolytic caps again.
