For HiFi I would use Dale, PRP, or Takman . There are other more expensive ones but those are excellent sounding and very quiet . Good for any guitar amp too. My favorite the IRC is getting difficult to source and I am slowly moving to PRP.

Hey Billy,

I have been afraid of trying the PRP resistors ever since someone here posted problems with the leads snappy off.

Could have been a bad batch that slipped through QC but have you experienced any of that?

The specs look good on them and I would love to try them someday.

I saw them in an Xits amp. I thought it was weird for the kind of amps that guy builds, but if it sounds good...

Had not heard about the leads breaking off . They are Copper so it sounds questionable to me.

I think what happened is they had some bad spot welds on the lead to body of the resistor.

But I only heard of one instance where this was mentioned.

I only have a few values of the PRP they are good resistors.

I played the KR12 Lous Electric and they were very good sounding amps. Here is a gut shot of the KR12 with PRPs I call it the red amp

Don't use metal film as plate load. Carbon comp or Kiwame I n that position.

Don't use wire wound or metal film as grid stopper, they act as antenna for RFI.

Takman and Kiwame would make a righteous machine. Vrooom, and such.

Are you using the new IRC or old vintage?
