REforming caps in a Voltage doubeler circuit.

I bought an old stereo organ amp.It has a V.D. (not like Ron Mexico)Circuit in the power supply.I hooked up two 3 watt 220k's in parralel from the rectifier diode to the + on the first cap.It started out pulling 120 volts or so acroos the 220k's. Then down to 80 It seens to have leveled off around 50.

I s there something else I should consider.I've never worked with a VD circuit.Atleat not a high voltage one.

To limit the current to both caps in that doubler circuit you would have to put the resistance in the lead going from the PT to the junction of the two reservoir caps. Placing it as you did the lower one got all the available current. With 73.3k and 50V you have 0.7mA. I think I would replace both of those caps.

I think I have some caps I bought a few years ago somewhere.I'll try to form them.

It was 2 3watt resistors.So .45mA but yea I'll replace em.They're old I was just tryin' this for the hell of it.
