NASA guides for soldering.

Post by utervo »

Bumped into these, Nasa doesn't like eyelets or components on top of turrets.

Yes. Sprung weight causes problems in an induced 5 minute mag 9 earthquake.

Yes it doesn't affect amps, but I some of that soldering stuff very informative.

It does when it tumbles out of the back of the van onto the pavement.

We've all seen chassis bent in S curve around trafo mount from rough landings.

Do they have any tips for soldering in 0G.

I hate it when the solder floats out of the terminal.

FYI
NASA has since adopted IPC-610

Someone should design an amp for the ISS.....

With all the experience we have with rolling tubes.. imagine if you had to deal with that shit and be 100% positive before sending it on a $500M Russian taxi to that money sucking technology stopper of a bloated multi-national cash burn of a space station.

Too political? haha

hah! Of course I hadn't considered swapping tubes from the Russian telemetry if you get any ringing or buzz.

Dood, your amp is falling.

If you had your amp out in space your tubes wouldn't need glass.

"If you had your amp out in space your tubes wouldn't need glass."

Most likely….but you must first get it out Earth's atmosphere.

Even if you could build them in the ISS, you would need to construct them in a vacuum chamber, lots of oxygen there.

That's one of the obstacles in space rocketry, everything must perform well under two very different and almost opposing environments. And it's not just gasses vs. vacuum, there is gravity and lack of it, electromagnetism (from the Sun) and a host of other issues.

All the best.

Yep, good observation Vacuum, if anyone would know, it would be you! :D

The speaker should be in a gaseous environment.

Cheers!

You guys are making this way to complex.Just run your power and speaker cords back into the space station and let your amp float around outside. Before you bring it back in you put the glass back on the tubes.
Geez

Think of all the crystal lattice layers you could have if your whole amp was in a vacuum
