10thtx, what do you mean by this?...Remember the 1M reverb pot adds to the "separation" more than the 100k Fender pot would.

Re: Pleximan Tremoverb...update with layout
The Fender has a 100k pot with 3.3M mixing resistor.
The 1-tube reverb originally had a 2.2M pot with 100k mixing resistor.
Hope that makes sense to you?

10thtx, thanks for the reply (and don't mean to derail the thread). I see how in tubeswell's schem the 3.3M resistor and 220K for a divider before the mixer stage, but I'm having trouble seeing how the 1MA reverb pot interacts with that divider and the wet/dry ratio. Thanks for any help here.10thTx wrote:The Fender has a 100k pot with 3.3M mixing resistor.

Re: Pleximan Tremoverb...update with layout
Is there a big difference between inserting the reverb like 10thtx did compared to the more standard Fender way? Pros and cons?
What reverb tanks did you use in your projects, 10thtx and tubeswell?

The decisions just got a bit easier to make. The donor amp I'm going to use only has enough tubes to make the one tube version. So I'm going to try your version after all, 10thtx.
What software do you use for those .sch files?

Duh! yes it was! TFT - Corrected voltages huh?

Re: Pleximan Tremoverb...update with layout
220k is an over zealous grid leak for the mixer stage - superfluous? - probably (given that there is a 470k/1M path for grid current). More AC load than necessary? probably - especially given the tone stack after the recovery stage. But it sounded good in that configuration especially when dimed.Gaz wrote:10thtx, thanks for the reply (and don't mean to derail the thread). I tried lots of ways of skinning the cat on this - re-built the amp a dozen times with different reverb configurations - this was the one I preferred the most. YMMV.

Re: Pleximan Tremoverb...update with layout
Something I like to do is put the standby switch immediately after the reservoir caps. (power tube plates supply)
This helps the inrush current when you take it off standby.

Re: Pleximan Tremoverb...update with layout
I finally managed to make a layout for this project. It might not be exactly as the schematic.
Haven't done this before, and I'd be glad if you all want to have a look at it. Every comment is appreciated.

Anyone...?
It would be really nice to get some input. There are couple of solutions you might describe as "different".
