Vintage Amplifier Amp-Fuses * Questions, Quality, Specs

I got the following information regarding the fuses needed for my vintage Fender amps
from Ampwares. I'm seeking a couple of backup fuses for each amp . . . . . just in case.

(4A) = 1983 Twin Reverb II 105w Amp Head
(2½A) = 1964 2x12 Twin Reverb 85w Combo Amp
(2A) = 1964 2x10 Super Reverb 40w Combo Amp
(3A) = 1954 5D6 4x10 Bassman 40w Combo Amp
(2½A) = 1968 Dual Showman Reverb TFL5000D 100w Amp Head
(3A) = 1960 6G4 2x10 Super Amp 40w Combo Amp
(2 1/2A) = 1983 1x12 Concert II 60w Combo Amp
(¾A) = 1962 Fender Reverb Tank Unit (anybody know output wattage)
(2A) = 1968 Bandmaster Reverb TFL5005D 40w Amp Head

Questions:
Appears the needed fuses in order there are:
4A * 3A * 2.5A * 2A * 0.75A

Did I read the Ampwares specs correctly that three amps need a "2.5A fuse"???
Is that a common fuse spec available for purchase?

Do the above amplifier fuses stated by Ampwares for vintage Fender amplifiers seem accurate?

Do amplifier requirements for a fuse begin to vary or begin to
phase-out-of-spec as amps get older, weathered or overly used?


I've located some sources for amp fuses. Do you have a favorite source?
Are some brands of fuses better than others? Fuse brands to avoid?

Yes, 2.5A Slo Blo, you can confirm it on their schematics.

Don't deviate from the schematic because of age or wear or tear, the current draw stays the same.

Radio Shack or Fry's is fine if local to you. Or Parts Express online. No need to go off searching further and, no, there are neither particular brands to buy nor to avoid.

There is no output wattage per se, but there is a 6K6 driving the reverb tank. Expect maximum AC current needed would be a little less than a Champ requires.

No. But sometimes old fuses fail due to fatigue. Every time you switch the amp on, there's a current surge, often a bit beyond the fuse rating. Multiply times thousands of powering-up cycles & fuse gives up "due to old age."

Radio Shack is handy & most stores will have what you need. Antique Electronics is a good go-to source for lots of amp & guitar parts including fuses. There's also the "usual suspects" when dealing with parts distributors. I've had good luck with Mouser over the last 25 years. There's also DigiKey, Newark and a few others. Some are not so friendly towards small-batch orders.

Littelfuse & Buss are the top brands and commonly found so why use anything else? I'd avoid anything cheap & nasty. There's also no reason to spend a king's ransom on so-called "hi-fi" fuses. Unless you like spending yourself into the poorhouse.

Slo-Blo fuses are generally what's used with tube gear. There are a few exceptions, and they usually have the recommendation for normal fuses printed on the amp.

"Slow Burn" is what I do when over-talkative customers won't get off the phone. Also in other nerve wracking situations. I'll let you imagine...
