Transmitter into guitar amp?

Has anyone ever converted a Globe Scout model 40a into a guitar amp?. It's a great chassis..???????

Not sure if anyone here is a ham or if we know what that is. Can you show us pictures, inside and out, and a schematic? Maybe that will get an opinion or 3.

Sometime ago I was looking for info about to build a guitare SE amp with the 6146 tube, but people told me that isn't a good choice also if this tube is usable in PP (as some manufacturers has done in the past)

When I asked a guy told me this

6146 makes HIGH current at LOW screen voltage.

Not a good Class A SE tube. You want reasonable current and screen voltage about the same as plate voltage.

You know what the schematic looks like... every other simple pentode SE audio amp.

Try 230V supply, 1.6K load, 220 cathode resistor.

So I think you can build something but with other final tube

You can ascend to the heater disposable current in the PT and measuring it you can know the AC High Voltage, about disposable current for B+ it is a bit difficult to exactly establish, because a 40W AM transmitter didn't correspond to a 40W AF amplifier, you must also consider that a Radio Amateur transmitter will be ON not for long time it isn't a broadcast station

However I think you can consider to be able to build a 25 (may be 30) W guitar amp
