Exactly what are the voltage ratings for breadboards?

Re: Vacuum Tube Prototyping Board
The small white protoboard is not suitable for HV it was intended for ICs and LV transistors, etc., so check out tubelab's modular prototype board for tubes, it's good for may be 1KV (perhaps more if you dare)...

That's what I thought. Maybe someone needs to tell the guy before he electrocutes himself.jazbo8 wrote:The small white protoboard is not suitable for HV it was intended for ICs and LV transistors, etc., so check out tubelab's modular prototype board for tubes, it's good for may be 1KV (perhaps more if you dare)...

Re: Vacuum Tube Prototyping Board
IIRC, arcs in free air don't start until about 1mm per 1KV, so a 500V B+ would need to be spaced at about 1/2mm (about 0.020") or less to arc. The white board should actually work, in my estimation. Would I do it? Probably not.

Works just fine. The question is the distance and insulation between two points of voltage. The prototype board shown has no high voltage points close to each other so it is safe. Lots of air and plastic between. I have done some quick prototyping with the same boards with two or three traces between high voltage points.
